Jones and Synuff got in. I don't think I'm quite ready to give up on it yet...tho I'm getting a bit less enthused about the situation.
I've been considering trying WoW again, I managed to recover my account that was locked out thanks to a lost authenticator. Not as an actual switch or anything, but just to play around with. It's been a good 4 years since I played I think.

It's really late and I'm not sure I should be typing anything at all, I don't think we should abandon arkurg or anything but maybe trying new games as a group would be a good idea since Trion doesn't seem to be handling things particularly well. Atleast then when they eventually goof and the servers go down for a couple days like they have we can all play some kind of backup thing.

Haha. Not trying to incite a riot or anything. Don't mean we should necessarily drop it yet. It's just, holy crapbaskets.

I honestly don't know what to play besides AA. I still like the game itself -- when I can play it. But what it comes down to is if I'm paying patron for AA, I'm not going to sub to another MMO. I'll buy a multiplayer game, sure. But one recurring fee thing.
I have BL 1&2, L4D 1&2, KF, blah blah look-at-my-Steam-list if we ever wanna do anything like that. I'm not getting BL: Presequel until GOTY.
Uh...could always do The Secret World since it's ftp for a while now. Dok and I do have established characters but we haven't touched it in a long while. Only problem would be those who don't want to quest. Missions are kinda the way you play the game.

I don't think I could do Secret World, I've actually never put a game down quicker. I had tons of fun on the forum following it, following the forum games they had, taking part in the facebook game...but once I got into the Templars beta I was so let down by what I saw. I was just expecting something so completely different from what they were putting out. I definitely wasn't expecting a game similar to Dawn of the Dead.
Also...I hate to say it but I have no idea what all your acronyms mean up there khell... <.< Well, aside from AA...

Are you guys interested in playing Perfect World with me for a while? I haven't played in a long time but I miss it. It's very much like an old school ArcheAge, so much so that I spent most of beta going, "Here’s another part they copied from PW."
Unlike AA, it really is free. You can spend lots of money but it is possible to play the whole game without spending.
You might not like the lack of farms and ships, though. Mats have to be gathered from the wild or bought. There's no housing but you can have instanced guild bases. The guild Matt and I inherited had one.

I think what Jones said is good that we can try and play games in smaller groups find something that would appeal to everyone and then stick to it. I really did enjoy AA but ever since I lost my patron I dont feel like repaying for the sub. Being poor in college sucks lol. I added a couple of you guys on steam so far

That's kinda how I feel too, wookums.
Some games I was looking at:
Of course there's GW2. I think Lineage 2 is free now. Wildstar *can* be free - I guess game time can be bought with in-game money. SWTOR is free, but the restrictions they hit you with are pretty harsh (imo) if you don't sub. I don't know what Tera is but apparently it's free.
For any of you that enjoy shooters, APB Reloaded used to be/is fun. I have no idea how populated it is these days, it's been a while since I hopped into that.
I'd be up for any group games / mmos...I really just enjoy having people to game with. Just...not huge on zombies... <.< =P

I still like ArcheAge too, even though I don't have a lot of time to play. But yeah, it does feel like the game is perpetually teetering on the edge of an abyss. I imagine that maybe they'll have it mostly fixed half a year from now, assuming it survives. I don't have anywhere near the investment in the game that most of you guys do, but I'd like to at least complete the quest chain to level 50 on both characters before throwing in the towel. (Yes, I'm one of THOSE people; I really like doing quests.)
Anyway, I would miss you guys if you left! So I'd be up for trying some other games too. But I'm with Dade when it comes to zombies! No zombies! And I really suck at shooters; I lack coordination. Have any of you ever tried City of Steam (http://www.cityofsteam.com)? We played it a bit when it was in beta and it seemed to be fun. I can't tell you a lot about the actual experience since the machine I had at the time wouldn't run it very well and I didn't get very far into it.

I was just expecting something so completely different from what they were putting out. I definitely wasn't expecting a game similar to Dawn of the Dead. Also...I hate to say it but I have no idea what all your acronyms mean up there khell... <.< Well, aside from AA... The zombie thing is mostly just in the first town. You run across the "zombies" but technically they're corrupted. Then creatures from the deep and...well, it's Lovecraft Innsmouth. But it just goes into all sorts of things. First region is Solomon Island so it's very New England and all the watery deep Cthulhuesque baddies, Native American burial grounds, an academy teaching magick, demon-summonings, haunted amusement parks...hell, even Sasquatches. That's just the start. Then you travel to Egypt and Transylvania. You will be able to explore the three major hub cities for the secret societies and the attention to detail is really cool. I know I've mentioned to Tim and Jones these examples but have you ever had to decipher Morse code or translate Romanian in an MMO? Yeah. You do that. The game will send you to Google to look up websites that were specifically set up to give you clues. You will need to "crack" files and be able to reverse image search and identify city layouts and what not. It's very in-depth and a good game. I was saddened so many people didn't like it because it was "too hard" and they ended up having to look up walkthroughs for the puzzles. Even for me, who had gotten into the bad habit of clicking through quest chatter to the accept button, enjoyed reading and figuring out the missions because they weren't just go here, collect/kill thing, profit. And they didn't stop the out of game community puzzles either. The stuff you had to work out with the clock before beta and such was the same sort of complexity the devs provided the players to collectively pick apart after release. I'm not sure what disappointed you at the very start because I was surprisingly impressed by the creativity put in and greatly enjoyed each step of the story playing out. It never felt like a grind and sure, even though I give it such a glowing description it did have its bugs and I believe this is also one of the games that caused Dok to punch a hole in the wall in frustration. But I think it was a step in the right direction and I was extremely disappointed when Funcom couldn't hold things together, causing the creator to leave to work on other goals and for the game to go FTP. I ended up quitting after I finished the storyline thus far and did most all of the Nightmare mode dungeons (which are by themselves, very awesome too). Probably would have still stuck around if the guild I was in remained together. But with all that said, I don't know how it's fared since I left. It could be utter shit now. I have no clue. TL;DR: TSW in the beginning = gud. No poops. Also, BL is Borderlands. L4D is Left 4 Dead. KF is Killing Floor. ^_^

oooh, borderlands...I've thought about picking those up. I guess the easiest way for me to describe why I was disappointed is by saying I was expecting the game to be more heavily based on intrigue between factions with strange creatures thrown in. I thought the game would be more separation of the factions and pvp between factions while trying to unravel the puzzles and that the monsters wouldn't be quite so prominent as they were. Also, and they might have changed it, but I found the combat kind of "clunky". And this looks cool, I think: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Desert
