goblinworks.com/pathfinder-online/I've been looking forward to this for quite a while. Dunno if it'll appeal to any of you. Player owned land, player run economy, at least somewhat open world pvp.

Looks interesting. The way they set up the economy is how I'd do it if I made an MMO. I'm not so sure about the art, though. From what I could see of the character models, they look pretty awkward. I confess that art is a major factor in how much I like a game.

The character models and the buildings I thought looked alright. The stances and what-not need some touching up but I'm guessing they'll be more refined by the time it's actually ready to be released. The landscape needs a bit of work, definitely. The look of the game factors in for me as well, but if the game's good I could probably forgive some skimping on graphics. ;P If I could handle the controls I'd probably go back and play Asheron's Call, especially now that it's buy to play.
I believe they're trying to keep it fairly true to the table top game, which interests me quite a lot. I had high hopes for DDO when it came out. I was a huge fan of Turbine and I've played D&D for years. I was pretty let down by the repetitive mess they'd made.
I'm hoping to avoid a repeat with PO. =P

It's a game engine, and it's not really bad, just kind of average. The real problem I guess may lie in how easy it can lead to lazy development. It provides a lot of boilerplate code, which may tend to be left as is, whereas the performance could get a boost by modifying it or starting from scratch. That and the built-in networking support is kind of bad, so it's up to the devs to make their own, though I'd argue that should be done anyways. Meh

Yep Rad got it right, for what can be a big project I can't see the Unity engine being any good at it. Plus it just feels like a real let down when they did a Kickstarter for a million bucks and this is what they chose to use as the engine. XD

I dunno man...they could make something good or something rubbish with it. Aren't those pretty much the odds of any game that comes out? If the game turns out to be fun, has loads to do, and can, for the most part, live up to what they're promising then personally I'll be happy.

I don't know, I can see why they'd use the Pathfinder name for publicity, but honestly I don't really see much similarity to the D20 game...
I'll remain skeptical about it for now, but who knows, I was super negative about Archeage when I read about it, but I actually still really like it. I would really like to see a game that could capture some of the free-form nature of a tabletop game, but I feel like this game is going in a different direction. (Thinking about it though, a tabletop style game on a MMO scale would probably be chaos)

Goblinworks is owned by Paizo and they're the ones that own Pathfinder. Hopefully they keep as much of the feeling for the setting and of tabletop as they can.

I hope they get a lot of input from the people who put together the pathfinder rulebooks or whatever, because I think a lot of the stuff in that game was pretty cool. Also, I REALLY hope they include lots of cool mechanics like disguise self spells and immovable rods. (If there are functional immovable rods, I'm sold.)
